I've been a big fan of Project Life over the past two years. For those of you who don't know it's where people scrapbook or take photos daily or weekly. Then each year you end up with a book that's a complete record of the year.
Here's an example of what a completed week would look like:
I've decided to purchase the pieces, but instead of starting January 1st and doing this for a year. I'm making it a book of Bubble's first year. So I'm putting together a page right now of my pregnancy, then the other pages will start once he's here. I expect I will take lots of pictures of him, but everyone keeps telling me I'm not going to have time to do my traditional scrapbooking, so I think this will work.
Will post my completed pages here soon!
Countdown has begun. 8 days left to due date. Now the bet is will he come on time. Despite everyone telling me he's going to come early I've pretty much given up on that false hope. He seems content to stay in and make me uncomfortable every day. People keep telling me that once he's here that I'll wish he was back inside. That will never be the case. Either way he's coming out, I'd rather it be sooner than later. He doesn't need to get any bigger, and I don't either!
I was at home with the boys this last week, their mid winter break. It was a busy week. Andy was at home for two days, the rest it was me, and one day Gigi got to hang out with them while Andy and I both worked. It's tough having two boys running around. They're busy little guys, and need lots of attention. Made it impossible to get any work done.
We do finally have the house mostly back together and each of the boys rooms are clean and ready for them. And then they decide this is where they want to sleep:
Leo is still loving his books and his cars. He's now wearing underwear during the day. He's very good about going to the potty. Still wearing diapers at nap and bed time. He's really good about taking naps, but it's getting harder to get him to go down at night. If he doesn't nap during the day though he can get kinda grumpy.
Vinnie is still into guns, shooting games. I didn't let him play any or watch any tv during the day. This kid is way too into the tv. We made these melty things that you put something together on a peg board then iron them. My mom got these for the boys at Christmas. Vinnie really liked using the iron. Unfortunately once Leo was up they all got broken.
Now the boys are gone. I'm still pregnant and trying to get a lot of work done before Bubbles gets here- including figuring out a name for him!
Had our doctors appointment yesterday. I'm still measuring small 35 (should be over 36). Hoping that Bubbles wont be that big after all!
Bubbles has been moving a lot less lately, so I mentioned that to the doctor, so she had us do a non-stress test. I sat hooked up to this monitor for 15 minutes and pushed a button every time he moved. It also tracked my uterus.
The number on the left is his heartbeat. It went as low as 113 to as high as 170 when he was moving. I had three or so contractions during the time that I was hooked up to it. Doctor said I wont be going past my due date, and may come early. I'm crossing my fingers he does come early. I'm done being pregnant :)
I'm telling you I'm going to finish this! I'm so close!
So this is what it feels like? I guess I've been having contractions for about a week now. No idea that was what I was having. I just thought it was Braxton Hicks. I was expecting pain, doubling over pain, but that is not what these are, well at least not yet... Plus I was thinking that the pain would be lower, in my uterus. It dawned on me today that the whole baby is in my uterus which means that covers my entire abdomen. Now it all makes sense!
We had our doctors appointment yesterday and I'm explaining this pain that I've been having to the nurse, while standing or walking or sitting that shoots down my legs, she said that sounded like the baby was sitting on something. Then I told her my stomach was getting rock hard randomly. She said that sounded like contractions. After the doctor examined me she said that the baby was already in my pelvis, hence the shooting pains. Also, turns out I'm 3cm dilated! If I was having consistent contractions I would be going to the hospital to deliver at this point. Since I'm not I just go home and wait until they start getting frequent.
This could go on for several more weeks, or I could be having this baby in 24hrs. There's no predicting these things. And yes, this is early. I'm not supposed to be having these contractions until 38 weeks. Some might suggest I should put myself on bed rest. I'm going to be doing jumping jacks all weekend. Get this baby out!
We shall see what happens...
