Books
I love it when kids take to books. Leo has always been a huge fan of stories. They're his friends. He has memorized the words in his books, reads along, enjoys looking at the pages. Always wants one more book before bed time. Vinnie has never been into books. Especially since he started learning to read. He fights it.
I found this book in a magazine Darth Vader and Son. It's a small book each page has jokes on them. I got it for Andy and Vinnie, but I was really surprised when Vinnie wanted to read it. He even took it to bed with him last night. Love it.
I read to Rex before he goes to bed. Right now we read In the Night Kitchen, Going to Bed Book and Goodnight Moon. It chills him out. Usually part way through the first book he poops. I change him and we read the other two. He's getting much better at going to bed now. Trying to catch those tired signs early!

Brothers
We had the kids the other weekend. It was crazy as usual, but Andy is managing very well as I'm at work on the weekends.
Poor Vinnie sprained his wrist crashing his new bike in front of the house. He has a cast on now for another twenty days or so, good thing these kids heal quickly!

Happy 4th!
We decided to light off fireworks in front of our house. Andy of course bought the loudest ones possible that only explode once (it's like he doesn't have kids?). Really he didn't bring home a single sparkler. So Rex, Leo and I stayed in the house. Vinnie lit off all the fireworks. The kids went down at 11pm last night. Vinnie got up this morning at 6am and came and layed down on the floor next to Andy. They're all still sleeping. Hoping that I can squeeze another half hour out of them, but oh no there's Rex...

4 months
Rex is 4 months old already. Where did the time go?!
He's becoming less and less of a sloth baby. He's sitting really well, although not on his own. He wants to stand all the time. Standing makes him happy. He seems to never tire of it.
He has the best eyebrow expressions. Cracks me up. And those chubby cheeks- yumm!
Poor little guy has had diarrhea essentially for the last three days. Not sure if it was something I ate, or the rice cereal we've been putting in his bottles. His bum is all red and raw now. I've been so good about keeping him dry and clean makes me sad to see it like this. Putting diaper cream on all the time now to try and make it go away.
He was a grumpy little guy all weekend not sleeping, but sooo tired. His nanny was at home with him today, and he napped this morning for two hours, so hopefully we can get back on track. He needs a schedule.
He's usually all smiles though.
Loves to watch you talk and try to talk back with his little gurgles and cooes. H
e's trying to reach for things.
Always chewing on his hands. I keep trying to give him a toy, but he prefers his hands.
Loves his baths, although he has just learned to splash. Not good for me, but he thinks it's great fun!
Still spitting up, but not as much as he was before. Either way doesn't phase him.
He probably weighs 15lbs according to our home scale.
He still likes to be read to. He likes "In the Night Kitchen" right now. I think he likes the big pages and soft colors.
Still likes it when I sing.
He's not a cuddler. Wishing he was more of a cuddler.
Really wishing I could spend more time with him.

Giraffe
Rex has two giraffe's in his life right now. He feels very differently about each of them...
This one is on his bouncy chair. This giraffe and Rex are foes. Rex kicks like crazy, knocks off the attachment, bats at the giraffe bubbles and yells at this one. He goes nuts. They are not friends.
This giraffe he likes. This giraffe's name is Sophie. It took a while, but now he likes her. He chews on her, and slobbers all over her. he loves staring at her black eyes too. This giraffe comes from France and is all the rage right now. I broke down and spent $20 on it when Rex started chewing on his hands. It's supposed to feel like mothers skin, bpa free, blah blah blah. You can check out more info here. Yes she has her own website.
