My little buddy

I spent the last five days at ships. Rex was up at 3am to eat, and I stayed up and went to work. Rex and I took a four hour nap this afternoon and it was lovely. It's been so hard spending time with him. I have so much work to do it barely leaves me time to spend with Rex. We don't even have him on a consistent routine of any kind. Poor parenting. He's so cute, and all he wants is attention. Need to spend more time with him.

Holiday?

If any weekend is going to break me it's going to be this weekend. Today is my Monday and I just worked a long ship day and have two inaugural calls this weekend with lots of questions and planning to be done. I have four more ship days in front of me, along with Rex, and on top of all of it it's our weekend with the boys. It's been a month since we've seen them, and I'm excited to see them, but I just wish it was another weekend. Plus we have all three boys for three days because of the holiday.

So this will be Andy's first time alone with all three kids. All bets are off, we're shooting from the hip this weekend and we'll see how it goes. Gone are the days of naps and Andy and Vinnie playing video games. Wish us luck. What have we gotten ourselves in to?!

Toys

Rex is starting to need, or I'm starting to need, the assistance of all these activity things we have. I can't hold him all the time. He has his bouncy chair, bumbo, swing, johnny jump up, and I'm reviewing right now buying an activity center jumper that he could actually use. The Johnny Jump up is still too big for him.

The kid likes to move. Likes to stand. Likes to chat. Likes to interact with everyone around him. He's getting so strong. He's almost at the point of being able to sit on my hip when I carry him around. Strange to think about, but that would be a big change from the front carry you have to do when they can't hold their head up. He's my strong little guy.

Gigi

Steffie came over to have dinner and hang out with Rex. It was great to have someone to hang on to him while Andy made dinner and I accomplished some things on my to do list. And he was a great little guy.

Change

Life is sure different today than it was four years ago. I was looking back through photos and there are lots of pictures of me and my girlfriends out having fun till 2am multiple nights in a row. Now I'm being woken up at 2am to feed a baby and working all day and night long. When I was talking about going out with my friends and how I hadn't been out without Andy or Rex since he was born, Julie told me I don't have friends. Sad.

I have friends though!
And all of you better be going out with me soon!

There are lots of things I love about today though. Andy is wonderful, Rex is adorable and they're both so much fun to be with. Just so absorbed in work these days that I'm not getting a chance to have any time for me. It's harder to spend time with friends, scrapbook, blog, get a pedicure. Work is getting to me.

Need to remember to make some time for things I want to do. Need to find some balance in my life.

Happy Mothers Day

My first Mothers day. So weird that I'm a mom. Hope all you other fellow mothers have a great day! I'm spending mine at work then Andy is making dinner. I'm looking forward to going home and being with my family. It's tough being away from this little guy.

Rex has such great neck control and leg strength. Had him sitting up in the boppy. His head flops around a bit, and he starts to hunch over, but he's so good at it.

2 months

Rex and I went to his two month doctors appointment on Friday. He was really nine weeks old. I know, I was late getting in.

He's 12lbs 12oz and 23in long. He's in the 50th percentile for everything. Perfect of course.

He had to get three shots in his legs, and eat some medicine. He cried hard for a few seconds, but I held him and he had his Binky so that was all he cried. What a trouper.

He's growing up so quickly. 

Project Rex: March 23rd-29th

Looking back at these photos he's so small! He's sure growing fast. Becoming a new little man. I was so stressed that week about his circumcision, and it's just fine now. Phew!
