Chaos

We have all the kids this weekend. This house gets turned upside down. With Andy in the kitchen cooking and the boys racing dumptrucks up and down the hallway this house becomes loud and messy.

But in the midst of all the chaos we all managed to sit down at the table at the same time and eat dinner together. We love having a dining room table.

 And we somehow managed to get all three kids to bed before 9pm! It takes a lot of juggling to accomplish such a feat!

Then the morning came, and for Rex it came at 4am, and today was not the day I wanted to get up early, and he wasn't going back down, so I pulled him in bed with Andy and I and he fell asleep. Vinnie came in just before 8am and climed in bed with us. He played with Rex's fingers for a while. Rex just kept sleeping.

Then Andy got Leo up and dressed and they read "Truck Stuck" in bed with all of us. It was a nice morning.

Rex was getting tired of having his fingers played with.

Then we all got cleaned up and went to Alex and Sharon's for brunch. When we got home Leo took a nap, Andy and Vinnie played their 3D video games.

 Rex had some tummy time before he finally took a nap. Can't stop taking pictures of this guy!

Two Months

I'm shocked to think about it, but it's been two months since Rex was born. He's changed so much over the past two months, and to look at a picture of him when he was born to now is shocking. He's getting so big. And to think in the beginning I was worried when he wasn't eating that he wouldn't grow. Well now he's a great eater and is already in 3 month clothing and getting too big for those!

If there was an award for best facial expressions, Rex would win. He cracks me up!

He's going to have eyes like me. For those of you who know my looks, you'll know what I mean. This kid is going to get what he wants.

I love his smiling face, but it's always a blurry picture!

Project Rex: March 16th-22nd

I'm trying to keep up with this. Will post a couple weeks over the next couple days, then maybe we'll be all caught up!

I actually did a 12 x 12 scrapbook page. I love that I'm actually scrapping again. Hoping I keep this up as the summer starts to get busy!

Sleepers

It's become difficult to get Rex to take a nap during the day. He's what Andy likes to call "A struggler". He fights it. He doesn't like to be left alone or put down. He sleeps in his car seat, but that's about it. And during the day he wakes up when his binki falls out and gets mad. It's tough to get him to sleep during the day. But the good part is last night he slept 8 hours! What?! you say. I know I was shocked too. If only I had gone to bed at 9pm when he did.

After he had his early morning breakfast I laid him down on the bed with Andy and got up to work, clean, shower, pump. All that stuff us moms do in any spare minute we have. Came back and hour later to find these two sleeping.

Early

One of the only ways that I can get anything done anymore is by getting up after Rex has his early morning breakfast, which means I wake up at 0430hrs, and can get to my computer by 0530hrs. I have one more hour until Vinnie wakes up, 1 1/2hrs until Leo wakes up and maybe an hour until Rex wakes up.

Time to myself is limited these days. I was looking at my pile of magazines longingly wishing that I could sit down and just read a whole one. Maybe get a pedicure. That would be nice. Now it's really back to work time though, so time to myself is not likely.

Can't believe I'm that mom who wakes up before her kids in order to have time to herself. Welcome to motherhood right?

Zoo

Andy took Vinnie skiing today so Leo, Rex and Tatiana and I went to the zoo. The place was packed and since a stroller last time restricted us from going to certain areas we decided to forgo the stroller and put Rex in the bjorn and bring Andy's back pack diaper bag. Besides my shoulders killing me, it was great.

And it was wonderful having Tati there to help and take her fabulous pictures!

Smile

Rex smiled for the first time today. I couldn't believe it. Something I've been waiting for, as he's been smiling in his sleep, a half smile, like he knows something you don't, and then after our walk this morning I was talking to him and he was all grins. It was awesome!

Zoo

I bought these groupon passes to the zoo a while ago that expire at the end of the month. I was hoping we would take Vinnie and Leo, but time is running out, so Tati and I took Rex and took a walk around the zoo. It turned out to be a really nice day. The zoo was packed full of little kids on school outings. I can't imagine being that teacher and trying to keep track of all of them! But for today all I had to keep track of was Rex in a stroller.

Rex of course slept. He was making funny faces and stirring around though. I'm pretty sure he could smell all the animals, and I don't think he thought it was a nice smell!

My baby

I keep saying that Rex's nose looks like Andy's until I found this photo of me as a baby, and his nose looks like mine used to look. Plus the hair, and the serious look he always done.
Everyone keeps telling me that Rex looks like Andy's boys, which means he looks nothing like me, so this makes me feel better. Mom you should have told me he looks like me as a baby!
